How to Apply for a Marriage License

You may apply in person for a marriage license Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., except legal holidays. You can apply online any time, but in order to complete the online application process, both applicants must go together to the Court between the hours listed above, with any additional required materials mentioned in these instructions.

At least one of the applicants must be a resident of Perry County and the marriage must be performed in the State of Ohio. If both applicants are from out of state but wish to be married in Perry County, they must obtain their license in Perry County.

A valid identification with your current address is required, however if your ID does not have your current address then you will need to provide a piece of mail to prove residency. If either applicant has been previously married and divorced, a file stamped copy of the final order or decree granting the divorce or dissolution is required for the most recent divorce.

Cost of the license is $70 (cash or check only). Credit Cards are not accepted.

License may be used the same day it is issued. It must be used within 60 days. The day of issue is day 1 of the 60 days.

No blood test is required.

If either applicant is under 18 years of age, contact the court for further information.
